Garrard County Release Records
Garrard County does not operate an adult jail. Adults arrested here are documented as being housed principally at Lincoln County Regional Jail or Boyle County Detention Center. Placement can change, so the arresting agency, VINE, or case file should identify the actual custodian. The old Garrard County Jail is not part of today’s custody system.
A release is an exit from one custody record. It may be a bond-out, court order, time served, parole, mandatory reentry supervision, discharge, or transfer. A transfer closes one facility episode while custody continues elsewhere. Leaving prison on parole ends confinement but not supervision. Read the release type and destination together.
Garrard County Release Types
The same word can describe different legal events. The releasing jail transaction and Garrard court or DOC record show which event occurred.
| Type | Meaning | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or court order | Jail custody ends while the case may continue | Jail transaction and docket |
| Time served | The ordered custody term is credited complete | Release sheet and sentence |
| Transfer | Custody moves to another authority | Destination, VINE, KOOL |
| Parole or reentry | Confinement ends under supervision | KOOL and District 14 |
| Discharge | A sentence milestone has been reached | Exact DOC fields |
Garrard County Release Record Fields
A useful request identifies an existing booking or release entry. No single record must contain every field, and privacy, sealing, expungement, or retention rules can limit access.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name, DOB, booking or DOC number | Identity keys |
| Booking time and housing facility | Where custody began |
| Case number and authority | Who controlled confinement |
| Release date and timestamp | Exit from that facility |
| Release code and type | Bond, time served, transfer, parole, or discharge |
| Destination or receiving agency | Whether custody continued |
| Order and hold disposition | Authority and effect of another hold |
A booking photograph documents identity at an arrest or corrections event. It does not prove later release, current status, or guilt.
Request Garrard County Release Records
Use the Garrard open-records request for county arrest, transport, routing, or communication records. Because Garrard did not house the person, request the physical booking and release entry from Lincoln or Boyle too. The county page displays a $0.25-per-page charge. Ask for electronic copies and an estimate.
- Give the full name, aliases, birth date or ID, arrest date, and agency.
- Identify the likely housing jail and Garrard case number.
- Request the booking sheet, release time, release code, destination, order, and booking image.
- Ask who received the person if the event was a transfer.
- Keep any exemption, retention, or no-record response.
The Kentucky Open Records Act is KRS 61.870 through 61.884. KRS 61.872 addresses request methods, and KRS 61.880 generally provides a five-business-day response period. Agencies need not create a report. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, private, active-investigation, and confidential supervision material may be withheld.
Garrard County Bond Releases
Boyle publishes a detail that matters when it holds a Garrard detainee. Its Circuit Clerk handles weekday monetary bonds, while the jail accepts them when the courthouse is closed. Property bonds and monetary bonds of $10,000 or more have separate limits. These are Boyle procedures, while the Garrard court controls a Garrard case.
The official Boyle inmate and bond page documents the route.

The jail transaction still supplies the physical release time. Another detainer or case may prevent release after bond is set.
Find Garrard County Released Inmates
A name that vanishes from a current roster is a lead, not a conclusion. Follow the custody chain.
- Collect the full name, arrest date, agency, and Garrard case number.
- Check Lincoln and Boyle current tools.
- Search Kentucky VINE statewide and check for a second record.
- Search KOOL if DOC custody or supervision may apply.
- Check DOC Daily Releases for a known state release date.
- Read the Garrard docket for the legal basis.
- Request the jail’s release entry and destination.
Garrard County DOC Release Lookup
KOOL covers Kentucky DOC offenders and supervision. Begin with last name and first initial. Add DOC or PID number, conviction county, or County of Supervision only when needed. A local case that never entered DOC may not appear.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Current Location | Prison, jail, or supervision district |
| Supervision Status | Whether DOC supervision is active |
| County of Supervision | Useful for a Garrard community case |
| Projected Release Date From/To | Exact search-filter label |
| Proposed Release Date | Separate parole field |
| Maximum Expiration Date | Separate sentence field |
Recent material may be revised. Copy labels, identifiers, and access dates. “ABSCONDED” is not successful discharge.
Garrard County State Release Archive
Kentucky DOC’s Daily Releases archive is a released-first source for state sentences. Dated files list DOC number, name, Type of Release, and Released From. They distinguish events such as minimum-expiration discharge, mandatory reentry, shock probation, conditional discharge, and releases involving a detainer.
It does not include every Garrard bond-out. DOC’s retention schedule says its Inmates and Releases series is updated daily and retained permanently. Match the DOC number, release type, and facility.
Garrard County Court Release Records
The Garrard clerk file may show a bond order, dismissal, sentence, probation, shock probation, amended judgment, or satisfaction. It can outlast a jail listing. Yet an order is not always the door time because another hold may delay release.
The official calendar lists District Court Monday at 9 a.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m., and Circuit Criminal on the third Friday at 9 a.m. This helps locate a durable disposition but does not promise a named hearing. Contact the clerk at 54 Stanford Street, Lancaster, 859-792-2961.
Garrard County Release Supervision
Garrard belongs to Probation and Parole District 14. KOOL’s Supervision Status, County of Supervision, and Current Location can show that prison ended while supervision continues. Probation comes from court; parole comes through the Board.
The Lancaster satellite at 308 West Maple Street, Suite 13 provides a local office. District 14 also offers reentry resource navigation for documents, transport, treatment, and basic needs. Protected conditions and reports may not be disclosed. See Garrard probation and parole for the verification path.
Closed Garrard County Jail Releases
The old jail at 103 Stanford Street is now a museum. It explains local history, not current custody. No one is booked into or released from that building today.
The official county page states that Garrard does not operate a jail.

That fact prevents a search at a closed site and redirects the inquiry to the true custodian.
Garrard County Release Search Limits
VINE covers participating Kentucky jails and adult corrections facilities. Check a reported release for a transfer or second record. Federal custody is separate. BOP can show a federal release date or “Not in BOP custody,” which does not rule out state custody, supervised release, or immigration custody. ICE’s locator fits only when credible facts show immigration involvement. The KSP registry covers only required registrants and does not prove an original jail release date.
Garrard County VINE Release Checks
Kentucky VINE has unusual value here because a Garrard detainee may be at Lincoln, Boyle, and later DOC. Search statewide by name or jail or DOC number. Compare spelling, identifier, facility, and status. Open each plausible match. A DOC offender can have both local and state records, so a released event on one does not cancel an active record on another.
VINE can report an out-of-custody release date or an in-custody location and facility contact. It is a notification and verification layer, not a court judgment. Kentucky permits telephone registration with up to two numbers and a four-digit PIN. Jail-release calls may repeat every thirty minutes for up to twenty-four hours until acknowledged.
State-institution notice may arrive about seventy-two hours ahead when possible. Court action, newly applied credit, escape, or an immediate event can shorten that notice. Confirm each alert with the jail or DOC, and never share the PIN. VINE does not cover federal BOP custody.
Garrard County Custody Source Matrix
Each source answers a narrow question. Garrard county records document arrest, transport, and routing, but no local jail roster. Lincoln and Boyle document their own booking and release transactions. KOOL is primary for DOC custody and supervision. Daily Releases supplies a dated state archive. District 14 connects an active supervision status to the local public office.
The Garrard court establishes legal disposition, while VINE reports custody events. BOP applies to federal imprisonment. ICE applies only when immigration custody is genuinely indicated. The KSP registry is limited to people legally required to register and shows a current registration record, not the original jail release.
Reliable confirmation usually combines the physical facility event with the legal authority behind it. For bond, pair the jail timestamp with the court order. For state release, pair the DOC type with KOOL status. For transfer, obtain the destination and check the receiving system. For discharge, distinguish final completion from supervision.
Garrard County DOC Record Requests
Kentucky DOC accepts written requests by email at correctionsopenrecords@ky.gov or by mail to its Open Records Coordinator, P.O. Box 2400, Frankfort, KY 40602. Give the full name and date of birth or offender ID. Ask for named existing records, such as a release entry, status-change record, custody credit entry, or notice of discharge.
DOC lists ten cents per released paper page, plus separate media and postage charges when physical media is used. KRS 197.025 gives DOC five business days, excluding weekends and legal holidays, to state availability, denial, or an availability estimate. That period is a response rule, not a promise that every requested record will be public.
Offender Information Services can address targeted public status questions at 502-564-2433. DOC also lists separate public and inmate-record open-records numbers. A focused request reduces mistaken matches and avoids asking the agency to compile an answer it does not maintain.
Garrard County Release Proof
Different records carry different weight. A current roster supports current listing, not custody at the instant it is viewed. Roster absence proves even less. A release transaction proves exit from one facility record. The destination field is what distinguishes community release from transfer. A court order supplies legal authority but may precede the physical door time.
VINE supplies a reported event that can lag. KOOL supplies DOC status and carries an accuracy caveat for recent data. A Parole Board schedule shows an expected proceeding rather than its outcome. A booking image documents identity at one event, not release or present custody. Social posts and news items can be stale.
For a defensible result, keep the person’s identifier, facility, exact source label, event date, access date, release reason, and destination. Then check the next possible custodian. This small evidence chain prevents a transfer, parole start, or federal status from being reduced to the vague statement that someone “got out.”
Garrard County Expunged Release Records
The court record often survives after a live jail entry disappears, but Kentucky expungement can remove qualifying material from ordinary official access. The official court process describes automatic expungement for certain acquitted and dismissed-with-prejudice nontraffic matters and an application process for other qualifying cases. Timing and eligibility depend on the disposition and sentence history.
An expungement order can direct courts, arresting agencies, and local jail record holders to expunge covered records. Do not assume an old copy remains accurate or proper to republish. When an official search returns nothing, lawful expungement is one possible explanation alongside spelling variation, destruction under retention rules, or a request sent to the wrong custodian.
The Garrard clerk is the proper local starting point for the court record and official expungement status. The housing jail remains the custodian of its own booking and release material. A written response from each office is stronger than a third-party copy whose source, date, and correction history are unknown.
Garrard County Release Facilities
Each facility plays a different role. The closed jail supplies history. Lincoln and Boyle are the county-documented principal housing paths, though every placement should be verified.
| Facility | Release path |
|---|---|
| Garrard County Jail (closed) | No current releases |
| Lincoln County Regional Jail | Release transaction and destination |
| Boyle County Detention Center | Current tool, records, VINE, docket |
No operating state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention site was identified in Garrard County.
A Garrard-origin state prisoner may still be held in a local jail or DOC institution outside the county. Northpoint Training Center is in neighboring Boyle County, but it is not the Garrard jail and is not the automatic destination for a Garrard arrest. Facility identity must come from the matched record, not geographic proximity.
Garrard County Roster Disappearances
When a person arrested in Garrard yesterday is no longer found, identify the arresting agency and do not search for a nonexistent county jail roster. Check both receiving facilities and then search VINE statewide. Spelling, aliases, delayed data, a brief cite-and-release event, placement elsewhere, and transfer can all explain a missing match. Requesting the arrest and transport sheet is safer than declaring release.
If a Lincoln or Boyle record shows an exit, ask for its date, code, and destination. A court docket may show the order, but the housing jail records departure. Garrard’s transport record can identify where custody was delivered.
Older Garrard County Release Records
For an old arrest, the Garrard Circuit Court Clerk is the durable local start. Give the party name, year, and case number. Ask for the judgment, amended sentence, dismissal, probation termination, shock-probation order, and relevant docket entries. A file may be local, offsite, or lawfully destroyed.
For a DOC case, identify the desired status or discharge document. The master file can contain custody credit, status changes, and discharge notice. Expungement can make a former result unavailable, so preserve the custodian’s response rather than replacing missing evidence with a claim.
Garrard County Conflicting Results
VINE and KOOL may describe different records. VINE might report local-jail release while KOOL shows a state institution, which points to transfer. If KOOL shows a supervision district, physical custody may have ended while supervision began.
Record each exact status, date, ID, and facility. Ask whether the event was community release or transfer. “Not in BOP custody” ends only the federal prison inquiry; another authority may explain the next status.
Correct Garrard County Release Errors
Start with the agency that created the disputed field. Contact Lincoln or Boyle for a jail time or destination, the clerk for a Garrard order, and DOC for KOOL. Preserve the identifier and request the underlying status-change entry.
Expungement can remove qualifying records from ordinary access. Do not republish material known to be expunged or infer that no result means no event. Lawful removal, retention, a wrong custodian, or a name mismatch can also explain it.
